"Cure for the Common Font"

A web designer's introduction to typeface selection - Frank Chimero, Stephen Cole, Jason Santa Maria & Tiffany Wardle talk about making better decisions about type. If you're like me and can listen to talk radio & books on tape while working, put on your headphones and listen to this at work - click below to view slides & listen.

you can also listen to the full audio & view slides at typographica.org - via imprint

baby birth announcement

This birth announcement is so darn cute it makes me want to have a baby just so I can send one out. Well, that and the fact that babies make great band member additions (we need a drummer). Hardee-har. Anyway, this was sent to me by a couple of friends, found on FPO

website of the day: dribble

dribble is show & tell for creatives. It's 3:30 am and I've spent way too much time dribbling. Ugh. I suppose that tells you how fun it is to dig through portfolios... www.dribble.com

method & craft

cool resource: Method & Craft calls themselves the DVD extras of design, the behind-the-scenes & how to for creatives, striving to educate on more efficient, and engaging ways to design.

show & tell: present your work, 3 ways

DROP MOCKS
Probably my favorite because there's no signing up or uploading and it's so convenient when all you want is show a quick preview of your work. You literally drag files into the browser window and ta da. Then share the url with others for a quick online presentation. (watch your file size though, it doesn't like high rez stuff) www.dropmocks.com

CONNECT-A-SKETCH
Another pointlesscorp app, it basically allows you to upload your roughs & sketches and create an interactive prototype to be presented or shared. I'm still testing this one. www.connectasketch.com

PREZI
Shared by a colleague of mine, Prezi is pretty thorough, it does just about any file format, videos, etc... You mix all kinds of content and create your own version of a presentation. The tutorials are pretty helpful too. Start there if you're interested. www.prezi.com

feed stitch

another pointlesscorp app that improves our online lives: FeedStitch basically pulls all your feeds into one nicely streamed channel and you can access it from anywhere. Oh, it's free too. Sneaky & slick. Go untangle your digital life >>
