a knock knock gift

Yesterday my friend Leann gave me the goodies above - from Knock Knock. It reminded me to go check out their latest gifts - I hadn't been there in a while. I want everything from that store.

birthday wishes, round 1

(quick side note: this is one my favorite color comps and I'm tickled to see it still in use everywhere as well as in some trend forecasting reports. yeay)

Else Bear turns 29 (34) this month, so this is more crap I want for my buh-day.

true beauty is on the inside

i have been yapping to my husband about the inside of our storage closets & dressers for a while. Hmm... Wouldn't it be lovely if every closet held a bright & cheery surprise on the inside? (and I'm NOT referring to my messy belongings). Expect a future BEFORE/AFTER post from Else Boo, showing her revamped closets. If any of you out there have ideas, send them on, email me.

To be continued...

veer goodness

while looking for an utilitarian sans serif font yesterday, my sweet friend turtle shared this one with me: filmotype (above) by Veer. Else Boo had not visited Veer in a while so I had a good time swimming in that ocean of pretty stuff.

First you gotta own the rules, then you can break them. I suppose this is an example of when breaking them works.

pantone freak

tonight, while cleaning out a purse for work tomorrow i found one of my pantone books. Apparently I do this often, I stash design tools in my purses and carry it around like a security blanket. Tylenol? No. I ain't got that. PMS book? X-Acto knife? Sharpie? You betcha. Because if you're ever at a dinner party or grocery store and someone shouts "Help! Does anyone have a PMS book?" I can reply "Relax, y'all. I got it." and that's just awesome.

Else Bear

PS: for the record, the book DOES come handy more often than one would think!

homegrown creative ♥

again, more work by some kansas city creatives. i love jordan's work & realized I never blogged about it so I'll be posting more homegrown love by local folks. It may not all be brand new to us in KC but it's work worth talking about for all the other folks out there.
