show & tell: present your work, 3 ways

DROP MOCKS
Probably my favorite because there's no signing up or uploading and it's so convenient when all you want is show a quick preview of your work. You literally drag files into the browser window and ta da. Then share the url with others for a quick online presentation. (watch your file size though, it doesn't like high rez stuff) www.dropmocks.com

CONNECT-A-SKETCH
Another pointlesscorp app, it basically allows you to upload your roughs & sketches and create an interactive prototype to be presented or shared. I'm still testing this one. www.connectasketch.com

PREZI
Shared by a colleague of mine, Prezi is pretty thorough, it does just about any file format, videos, etc... You mix all kinds of content and create your own version of a presentation. The tutorials are pretty helpful too. Start there if you're interested. www.prezi.com

more dieter rams ♥

Less and More: The Design Ethos of Dieter Rams.
The more I read on him, the more I see visual vomit everywhere I look. And that's actually a good thing - I'm trying hard to train myself to peel the layers, dial it down, simplify, say it with the least amount of information. I'm putting this book in my wish list.

pantone freak

tonight, while cleaning out a purse for work tomorrow i found one of my pantone books. Apparently I do this often, I stash design tools in my purses and carry it around like a security blanket. Tylenol? No. I ain't got that. PMS book? X-Acto knife? Sharpie? You betcha. Because if you're ever at a dinner party or grocery store and someone shouts "Help! Does anyone have a PMS book?" I can reply "Relax, y'all. I got it." and that's just awesome.

Else Bear

PS: for the record, the book DOES come handy more often than one would think!
