Clooney vs. Malkovich, for Nestlé

George Clooney has been the European face of the Nestlé coffee brand for years. Last year, Malkovich took a piece of the pie by killing George with a falling piano. This is the return of "God" (Malkovich).

Great. I'll never chew on a pen again.

Isn't this ad suppose to bring awareness & perhaps make me want to donate to the cause?

What happens when you stop trying to be all things to all people? You win.

Piperlime is asking ladies to take a stand against sneakers, sweatpants and flip flops and our local awesome advertising jedi, Tug McTighe, blogged about it. "It appears that Piperlime understands that it's better for some to love you and some to hate you than for all to feel indifferent about you"

Very cool read. via the American Copywriter blog Check it out here >>

the fun theory

If you know me, you know I love Volkswagen - for strange reasons, but I do.
  1. My father worked for Volkswagen in Brazil most of his adult life and retired there so I can't help but hold that brand dear to my heart. They're a little like family, I must say.
  2. They were one of the few companies out there who, very early on, weren't afraid to let creatives do what they do best and the result was advertising history - I love everything they do (even the unpopular stuff). Their design (product & graphic) is pure inspiration to me.
(Allow me to add a completely contradictory disclaimer here that while I love the design of their cars, I do not think the engineering itself is of good quality. For the record, they are pretty, different, well designed shells with crappy engines. I would never buy one because although I love them, I also sold out to Toyota a long time ago. And yes, I am aware I am a hypocrite. Thank you.)

The "Fun Theory" campaigns are dedicated to the thought that something as simple as fun is the easiest way to change people’s behavior for the better. This site is pure inspiration to my creative brain. Aaah... Good morning to me. Cheers.

Oh, and www.thefuntheory.com is work done by DDB, by the way. Of course.
